Volunteering at Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary: A Chance to Make a Difference

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in the lives of animals while also experiencing the beauty of nature? Then consider volunteering at Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a haven for animals, where they are cared for with love and attention. By participating in the volunteer program, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of university students, both national and foreign, and contribute to the sanctuary’s mission.

ACTIVITIES:

On your first day as a volunteer, you will receive a guided tour of the facilities and activities you will be participating in. This tour will take approximately 35 minutes and will give you a glimpse into the history of the animals and the sanctuary’s mission. You will also be introduced to the staff who will be working with you during your time at the sanctuary.

One of the primary activities volunteers will be involved in is animal feed. You will have the opportunity to learn how to properly give food and drinks to the animals, with the assistance of the sanctuary’s staff. In addition, you will also be involved in cleaning the rooms, cleaning solid waste from the river and surrounding area, and carrying out recreational activities for the animals.

Another important aspect of volunteering at Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary is educating visitors. You will have access to a summary of the history of the animals in English and will be able to guide visitors on tours. By giving them information and educating them about the animals and the sanctuary’s mission, you will be playing a key role in raising awareness and supporting the cause.

Initiatives

If you are interested in taking part in more intensive volunteer initiatives, such as reforestation or construction of enclosures for animals, these activities can be carried out with the prior approval of the sanctuary’s management. You will also be assigned a staff member to assist you during these initiatives.

Volunteering at Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary is a truly unique and fulfilling experience. With two schedules to choose from, Monday to Saturday, you can volunteer in the morning or afternoon. Choose between 9 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 5:30 pm, whichever works best for your schedule.
