The sanctuary is located just off the main highway that runs between Cusco and Pisac at km 22, making it easily accessible by car or bus. If you are driving from Cusco, simply head east on Avenida de la Cultura and follow the signs for Pisac.
If you are going to take the bus, there are several options depending on where you start. From Cusco, you can take a bus from the Terminal Terrestre de Cusco located on PUPUTI street to Pisac, which takes about half an hour and costs around 5 soles.
From Pisac, you can take a taxi or a colectivo (shared minibus) to the sanctuary. The taxi will cost around 20-30 soles, while the colectivo will cost around 2-3 soles per person.

Visiting the Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary

Once you arrive at the sanctuary, you will be greeted by a friendly staff member who will give you an introduction to the sanctuary and the animals that live there. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes: The sanctuary is located at more than 3,500 meters high, so it can get quite cold, especially in the morning and at night. Be sure to dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground.
